Simon Laskey established Laskey and Co in August 2000, building upon his qualification as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1995 and a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1998. He has a wide range of accountancy and taxation experience gained while working in public practice for sixteen years, ranging from the preparation of accounts from incomplete records, carrying out the statutory audit for numerous limited liability and public limited companies and specialising for several years specifically in the field of taxation. Simon works closely with individuals and businesses seeking tax efficient solutions to pre-defined business objectives, in addition to managing a growing portfolio of compliance focused advice such as year end accounts preparation and taxation compliance matters. Simon's role is the continual improvement and management of business relationships, offering specialist tax advice wherever possible.
Mike joined Laskey and Co in April 2006 as a senior member of the team . He has over eighteen years of experience working in public practice and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Mike has considerable experience of preparing and advising on the accounts of a wide range of small and medium sized owner managed businesses , together with the related tax compliance and statutory requirements. Mike's role is to provide office based support for the accounts and tax departments to ensure the smooth flow of client information and the swift turnaround of client assignments.
Jane joined the Rockingham Road office in August 1993 as an accounts senior, subsequently joining Laskey and Co in July 2006. She has more than 25 years experience working in public practice ranging from the preparation of accounts from incomplete records to the audit of small and medium sized companies. Jane also has experience of all aspects of PAYE, VAT and Corporation Tax matters and has dealt directly with HM Customs and Excise reviews of client records and Inland Revenue employers and contractors reviews.
Claire joined Laskey and Co in August 2003, having gained over 15 years experience working in public practice. Claire qualified as a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) in 1987 and has a wide range of accountancy experience ranging from the preparation of accounts from incomplete records to the statutory audit of limited companies. Claire's role at Laskey and Co is principally the preparation of financial statements for small to medium sized businesses and dealing with the related taxation compliance requirements for those clients. Claire is currently on maternity leave and will return to the office in 2009.
Paul joined the team in January 2007 having previously worked for Laskey and Co on a subcontract basis. He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. In addition to his experience gained in public practice, Paul has spent several years working in industry. Paul’s role involves the preparation of annual financial statements for small to medium sized companies together with taking primary responsibility for onsite accountancy services and assisting clients with the implementation and maintenance of computerised accounting systems.
Leanne joined Laskey and Co in November 2007 as an accounts senior. She qualified as a member of the ACCA in August 2005 and has 8 years of experience working in practice ranging from accounts preparation for sole traders and partnerships to small to medium sized limited companies, including statutory audit work. Leanne works on a part time basis from Monday to Thursday.
Stewart started work at the Rockingham Road office in the year 2000 and subsequently joined Laskey and Co in July 2006. He has over 8 years of experience in preparing financial statements for a range of businesses from sole traders and partnerships to limited companies and dealing with their related tax issues. Stewart's role is to ensure that the production of financial statements is of a high standard for both himself and more junior members of the team.
Fran joined Laskey and Co in October 2006 on a training contract to join the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). Fran's role is to assist the accounts department with the production of financial statements for small to medium sized businesses, as well as preparing Tax Returns for those clients as required.
Amy joined Laskey and Co in April 2007 as a qualified member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).
Amy's role is to prepare draft financial statements for small to medium sized businesses and to support the accounts department on a day to day basis.
Amy is currently on maternity leave and will return to the office in November 2008.
Stephen joined Laskey and Co in September 2004. He qualified as a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) in December 2007 and is currently studying to join the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) to support his core tax role. Stephen's role is to prepare income tax returns, trust tax returns and VAT returns and he is the starting point for most taxation planning and compliance work.
Donna joined the Rockingham Road office in August 1995 in a mixed secretarial and accounts clerk role, subsequently joining Laskey and Co in July 2006. Donna has taken primary responsibility for the bookkeeping and payroll department for more than five years, preparing client ' s bookkeeping and VAT Returns together with the preparation of weekly and monthly payroll paperwork and associated PAYE Returns. Donna works on a part time basis every morning from Monday to Friday and is the main point of contact for all payroll work.
Claire joined Laskey and Co in January 2004. Claire provides administrative support for the office and is responsible for all sales ledger enquiries and credit control matters as well as ensuring that the firm complies with health and safety legislation and money laundering requirements. As a part time member of staff, Claire works all day on a Thursday and Friday.
Beth joined Laskey and Co in September 2005 as an administrator offering full time administrative support to all staff, as well as assuming primary responsibility for incoming telephone calls and for welcoming visitors to the office.
